Scientific mode is available inside the Calculator. Toggle it with the Scientific button above the keypad.
A calculator that works in hex, binary, and octal as well as decimal, and supports bitwise and shift operations used in programming.
Decimal is everyday numbers; hex and binary are common in code (addresses, masks, flags); octal appears in some file permissions and legacy systems.
Word size (8, 16, 32, 64 bits) limits the value range and how results are displayed, matching common integer types (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t).

Use * for multiplication (e.g. 2*x). Powers use ^ (e.g. x^2). Functions include sin, cos, tan, sqrt, abs, log, exp.
Rational functions combine polynomials in a ratio. The graph can approach asymptotes, have holes where factors cancel, or oscillate in more advanced cases.
This plotter shows y = f(x) numerically; near singularities the curve may shoot out of view. Zoom carefully and expect large y.
Pair this guide with polynomial graphing to understand how factors in numerator and denominator compete.
Vertical asymptotes often occur where the denominator is zero (and the numerator is not). Horizontal asymptotes depend on degrees of numerator and denominator.
At undefined x values the function is not real-valued; JSXGraph may not connect branches across a vertical asymptote.
You can plot the rational and compare mentally with a line y = m*x + b by plotting that line separately on another pass.
