Scientific mode is available inside the Calculator. Toggle it with the Scientific button above the keypad.
A calculator that works in hex, binary, and octal as well as decimal, and supports bitwise and shift operations used in programming.
Decimal is everyday numbers; hex and binary are common in code (addresses, masks, flags); octal appears in some file permissions and legacy systems.
Word size (8, 16, 32, 64 bits) limits the value range and how results are displayed, matching common integer types (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t).

Use * for multiplication (e.g. 2*x). Powers use ^ (e.g. x^2). Functions include sin, cos, tan, sqrt, abs, log, exp.
Log functions undo exponentials in many applications: pH, sound intensity (decibels), and algorithm analysis. Plotting clarifies why log growth feels “slow.”
Shifts inside log arguments translate the graph horizontally; vertical shifts move the whole curve up or down.
Use the exponential guide to compare inverse shapes in the same session.
Logarithms are only defined for positive inputs (in real-variable plotting). The graph has a vertical asymptote where the argument approaches zero from the right.
The real logarithm is undefined at zero; the graph approaches negative infinity near zero from the right.
Engineering contexts vary. Here, use ln for natural log if supported; otherwise express change of base in your coursework.
